Afternoon Family Assistant in San Francisco
Description
This San Francisco family seeks a family assistant to provide household duties, meal-prep support, and childcare. A weekly cleaner is already employed, so housekeeping will focus on daily tasks such as dishes and laundry. The assistant will occasionally take the children to afterschool lessons or pick them up from aftercare approximately twice per week (Fall 2026 schedule TBD; likely around 2:00–4:00 PM for lesson drop-off/pick-up or about 4:45 PM from aftercare). A car is provided. The role also includes caring for the children one evening per week (approximately 5:00–8:00 PM). Primary responsibilities include grocery shopping, maintaining an organized pantry and kitchen, and helping with initial dinner preparation (the family will provide recipes and complete the final cooking; tasks may include chopping vegetables). Additional duties may include occasional vacuuming of the main level and mudroom (emptying the canister if full), taking trash/recycling/compost to and from the curb, tidying closets, organizing and cleaning the refrigerator, and changing bedding.
Pay: $45/hour, paid through payroll.
Paid vacation, holidays, and sick days (pro-rated for part-time).
